Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas

  • Peel ripe bananas and place them in a bowl. Mash them using a fork until smooth. A few small lumps are fine for texture and flavor.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • Add peanut butter, melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk everything until smooth and creamy. Make sure the mixture is well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well using a spoon. This helps distribute baking soda evenly for proper rising.

Mix Wet and Dry

  • Slowly add dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir gently using a spatula. Do not overmix. Overmixing can make banana bread dense instead of soft.

Add Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in chocolate chips carefully. Make sure they are evenly spread throughout the batter. Save a few chips for topping if you like.

Prepare the Pan

  • Grease a loaf pan with butter or oil. Pour the batter into the pan. Spread it evenly using a spatula. Tap lightly to remove air bubbles.

Bake the Bread

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake for 45–50 minutes. Check with a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, it is ready.

Cool and Slice

  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a rack. Slice once fully cooled for best texture and clean cuts.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for best sweetness.
  • Do not overmix the batter.
  • Add extra chocolate chips for richer taste.
  • Let bread cool before slicing.
  • Store in airtight container for freshness.
