Materials

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried peppermint leaves
  • ½ cup liquid castile soap
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or jojoba oil
  • 5 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 5 drops rosemary essential oil

Instructions

Boil the Water

  • Pour water into a pot. Bring it to a gentle boil on medium heat.

Add the Herbs

  • Add dried rosemary and peppermint leaves. Lower heat and let herbs simmer gently.

Steep the Herbs

  • Turn off heat. Cover the pot. Let herbs steep for ten minutes.

Strain the Liquid

  • Strain the herbal water into a bowl. Remove all herb pieces fully.

Cool the Mixture

  • Let the herbal water cool completely. Warm liquid can damage soap.

Add Castile Soap

  • Slowly add castile soap to the cooled herbal water. Stir gently.

Add Oils

  • Add olive oil and essential oils. Stir slowly to mix everything well.

Bottle the Shampoo

  • Pour shampoo into a clean bottle. Close tightly and shake gently before use.

Notes

  • Always let herbal water cool before adding soap.
  • Use distilled water for longer shelf life.
  • Shake gently before every use.
  • Do a patch test before first use.
  • Use glass bottles if possible.
