Ingredients

  • 400 grams beef thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the beef

  • Slice the beef into thin strips. This helps it cook quickly. Place in a bowl. Add cornstarch and mix well. This makes the beef tender and soft.

Blanch the broccoli

  • Boil water in a pot. Add broccoli and cook for two minutes. Remove and place in cold water. This keeps the color bright and texture crisp.

Cook the beef

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef slices in a single layer. Cook until browned. Do not overcrowd the pan. Remove and set aside.

Make the sauce

  • In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Cook for one minute. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar and broth. Stir until well combined.

Combine everything

  • Add cooked beef and broccoli to the sauce. Mix well so everything is coated evenly. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Serve hot

  • Turn off heat and let it rest briefly. Serve hot with rice or noodles. Enjoy your homemade Pioneer Woman Beef Broccoli.
