Ingredients

  • Bisquick baking mix – 3 cups
  • Breakfast sausage – 1 pound
  • Cheddar cheese shredded – 2 cups
  • Cream cheese softened – 4 ounces
  • Garlic powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup easier later.

Prepare the Mixing Bowl

  • Add Bisquick mix to a large bowl. Make sure the bowl is big enough. You need space to mix everything well.

Add the Sausage

  • Add raw breakfast sausage to the bowl. Break it into small pieces. This helps it mix evenly with the dry ingredients.

Add Cheese and Cream Cheese

  • Add shredded cheddar cheese and softened cream cheese. These ingredients add rich flavor and soft texture to the sausage balls.

Add Seasonings

  • Sprinkle garlic powder and black pepper over the mixture. These spices add light flavor without overpowering the sausage.

Mix Everything Together

  • Use clean hands or a spoon. Mix until everything combines well. The mixture should feel thick and slightly sticky.

Shape the Sausage Balls

  • Roll the mixture into one-inch balls. Place them on the baking sheet. Leave small space between each ball.

Bake Until Golden

  • Place the tray in the oven. Bake for twenty to twenty-five minutes. The sausage balls should turn golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • Use sharp cheddar for stronger flavor
  • Soften cream cheese before mixing
  • Do not overbake the sausage balls
  • Keep ball size even for equal cooking
  • Drain grease slightly after baking
