Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup crushed crackers for topping
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions
 

Prepare the Broccoli

  • Wash the broccoli well under running water. Cut into small florets. Boil in hot water for 3–4 minutes until slightly soft. Drain completely and set aside.

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish lightly with butter or oil. This prevents sticking and helps the casserole cook evenly.

Mix the Base

  • In a large bowl, add cream of mushroom soup, mayonnaise and milk. Mix well until smooth. This creamy mixture forms the base of your casserole.

Add Flavor Ingredients

  • Add chopped onion, salt and black pepper to the bowl. Stir everything together. These ingredients add great flavor to the creamy mixture.

Combine Broccoli and Cheese

  • Add cooked broccoli and shredded cheddar cheese to the bowl. Mix gently until everything is coated well. Make sure cheese spreads evenly throughout the mixture.

Transfer to Baking Dish

  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly using a spoon. This helps the casserole cook evenly in the oven.

Prepare the Topping

  • In a small bowl, mix crushed crackers with melted butter. Stir well until crumbs are coated. This topping adds a crunchy texture to the dish.

Add Topping and Bake

  • Sprinkle the cracker mixture over the casserole. Bake in the oven for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let it cool slightly before serving.
