Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups
  • Baking soda – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Butter softened – 1 cup
  • Brown sugar – 1 cup
  • White sugar – ½ cup
  • Eggs – 2 large
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Rolled oats – 2 cups
  • Chocolate chips – 1½ cups
  • Chopped walnuts – 1 cup
  • Shredded coconut – ½ cup

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Tray

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. This prevents cookies from sticking. Set everything ready before starting the mixing process.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well using a spoon. This helps spread the baking soda evenly. Keep this mixture aside for later use.

Cream Butter and Sugar

  • In another bowl, add softened butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Beat until smooth and fluffy. This step gives cookies a soft and chewy texture.

Add Eggs and Vanilla

  • Add eggs one at a time into the butter mixture. Mix well after each egg. Add vanilla extract and mix again until everything looks smooth and creamy.

Combine All Ingredients

  • Slowly add dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix gently. Add oats, chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut. Stir until everything combines into a thick cookie dough.

Shape and Bake Cookies

  • Scoop dough onto the baking tray. Leave space between cookies. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use soft butter for easy mixing.
  • Do not overbake cookies.
  • Chill dough for thicker cookies.
  • Use fresh oats for best texture.
  • Add raisins if you like extra sweetness.
