Ingredients

  • 1 package 6 oz cranberry Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup canned crushed pineapple drained
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ cup mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
  • 1 cup whipped topping like Cool Whip
  • ½ cup sugar optional, if needed for sweetness

Instructions

Dissolve the Jello

  • Pour cranberry Jello into a medium bowl. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved. Ensure all crystals dissolve for smooth texture.

Add Cold Water

  • Add 1 cup cold water to the dissolved Jello. Stir well to combine. This helps the Jello set evenly in the refrigerator.

Prepare the Fruit

  • Drain canned pineapple. Chop fresh cranberries if large. Combine fruits in a separate bowl. Add mini marshmallows and optional nuts.

Mix Fruit With Jello

  • Gently fold the fruit mixture into the prepared Jello. Stir slowly to distribute fruits evenly without crushing them.

Pour Into Dish

  • Pour the Jello-fruit mixture into a 9×9 baking dish or medium bowl. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Chill the Jello

  • Place the dish in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Let the Jello set completely. The salad should be firm but soft.

Add Creamy Topping

  • After Jello is set, spread whipped topping evenly over the surface. Optional: sprinkle extra marshmallows or nuts for decoration.

Serve the Salad

  • Cut into squares or scoop with a spoon. Serve chilled. Enjoy the sweet and tangy taste with a creamy layer on top.

Notes

  • Chill Jello completely before adding the creamy topping.
  • Fold fruits gently to keep pieces intact.
  • Adjust sugar if cranberries are very tart.
  • Optional nuts add a nice crunch.
  • Make the salad a day ahead for the best flavor.
