Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

Cook the Ground Beef

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Break it into small pieces. Stir often for even cooking. Drain extra fat before moving forward.

Add Onion and Garlic

  • Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook until soft and fragrant. This takes about five minutes. Stir well so nothing burns and everything cooks evenly.

Mix in Vegetables

  • Add frozen mixed vegetables to the skillet. Stir everything together. Cook for about five minutes until vegetables are heated through. This adds color and nutrition to the dish.

Season the Mixture

  • Add salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well so flavors spread evenly. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Turn off the heat and let it cool slightly.

Prepare the Batter

  • In a mixing bowl, add milk, flour, and eggs. Whisk until smooth. Make sure there are no lumps. This batter will form a soft crust while baking.

Assemble the Pie

  • Grease a baking dish with butter. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Pour the batter evenly over everything.

Bake the Pie

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the dish in the oven. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes. The top should be golden and set in the center.

Cool and Serve

  • Remove from oven and let it cool for ten minutes. This helps it set properly. Slice into portions and serve warm for best taste.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce extra grease
  • Add more cheese for a richer flavor
  • Try fresh vegetables instead of frozen
  • Do not skip resting time after baking
  • Use a glass baking dish for even cooking
  • Add herbs like parsley for extra taste
