Ingredients

  • 2 cups canned peaches drained slightly
  • 1/2 cup peach syrup from can
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Place butter in the baking dish and let it melt inside the oven. This creates a rich base and prevents sticking.

Prepare the Batter

  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add milk and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth. Do not overmix. The batter should be slightly thick.

Add Batter to Dish

  • Carefully remove the hot dish from the oven. Pour the batter over melted butter. Do not stir. This helps create layers while baking.

Add Peaches and Syrup

  • Gently place canned peaches over the batter. Pour peach syrup evenly on top. Do not mix. The batter will rise around the peaches during baking.

Bake the Cobbler

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown. The edges should be slightly crispy. The center should be soft and bubbly with sweet peach filling.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the cobbler cool for 10 minutes before serving. This helps it set properly. Serve warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Do not stir after adding peaches
  • Use good quality canned peaches
  • Adjust sugar based on sweetness
  • Add nutmeg for extra flavor
  • Serve warm for best taste
