Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise – ½ cup
  • Buttermilk – ½ cup
  • Sour cream – ¼ cup
  • Garlic powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Onion powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Dried dill – 1 teaspoon
  • Dried parsley – 1 teaspoon
  • Dried chives – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – ¼ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon
  • Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon optional for extra tang

Instructions

Combine the Base

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add mayonnaise, sour cream and buttermilk. Whisk gently until smooth. These ingredients create a creamy, rich base for the ranch dressing.

Add the Seasonings

  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, chives, salt and black pepper. Mix well to combine. The herbs and spices give the dressing its classic ranch flavor.

Adjust Flavor

  • Taste the dressing. Add lemon juice for extra tang if desired. You can also add more salt or pepper to your preference. Whisk again to blend evenly.

Chill the Dressing

  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Chilling helps flavors meld together. The dressing becomes creamier and more flavorful after resting.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Stir the dressing before serving. Pour over salads, use as a dip for veggies or drizzle on chicken wings. Enjoy fresh homemade ranch flavor anytime.

Notes

  • Use fresh herbs if available for stronger flavor
  • Whisk well to make a smooth dressing
  • Chill at least 30 minutes for best taste
  • Adjust thickness with more buttermilk if needed
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge
