Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon flour for dusting

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Prepare the Sausage

  • Place sausage in a bowl. Add pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Mix gently until combined well.

Roll the Pastry

  • Lightly flour your counter. Roll puff pastry into a rectangle with even thickness.

Add the Filling

  • Spread sausage mixture along one long side of the pastry. Keep the layer even and not too thick.

Shape the Rolls

  • Roll pastry tightly over the sausage. Press the seam gently to seal it closed.

Cut the Rolls

  • Use a sharp knife to cut into equal pieces. Each roll should look neat and firm.

Brush with Egg Wash

  • Mix egg and milk together. Brush the tops lightly for a golden baked finish.

Bake Until Golden

  • Place rolls on the baking sheet. Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until puffed and golden.

Notes

  • Always thaw puff pastry fully before rolling.
  • Do not overfill, or rolls may open while baking.
  • Chill rolls for ten minutes if pastry feels too soft.
  • Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
