Ingredients

  • Ground beef – 500 grams
  • Onion chopped – 1 medium
  • Garlic minced – 2 cloves
  • Taco seasoning – 2 tablespoons
  • Tomato sauce – 1 cup
  • Black beans drained – 1 cup
  • Corn – 1 cup
  • Tortilla chips crushed – 2 cups
  • Cheddar cheese shredded – 2 cups
  • Sour cream – ½ cup
  • Green onions chopped – 2 tablespoons

Instructions

Cook the Beef

  • Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Break it into small pieces. Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook until soft and fragrant.

Add Seasoning and Sauce

  • Add taco seasoning to the beef. Mix well so the flavor spreads evenly. Pour in tomato sauce, black beans, and corn. Stir everything together and let it cook for 5 minutes.

Prepare the Baking Dish

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a baking dish. Spread a layer of crushed tortilla chips at the bottom. This creates a crunchy base.

Layer the Casserole

  • Add half of the beef mixture over the chips. Spread evenly with a spoon. Add a layer of cheese. Repeat layers with chips, beef mixture, and cheese.

Bake the Casserole

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 25–30 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles. The top should look golden and delicious.

Add Toppings and Serve

  • Remove from oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Add sour cream and green onions on top. Serve warm and enjoy your meal.

Notes

  • Use fresh cheese for better melting and taste.
  • Do not overbake or it may become dry.
  • Add jalapeños if you like spicy food.
  • You can use chicken instead of beef.
  • Crush chips slightly, not too fine.
