Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp yeast optional for softer texture

Instructions

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Melt Butter and Liquids

  • In a small saucepan, melt butter with milk and water. Remove from heat when combined.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and yeast. Stir until well blended.

Combine Wet and Dry

  • Pour the butter mixture into the flour. Mix until dough forms a smooth, sticky ball.

Add Eggs

  • Add eggs one at a time. Mix until fully incorporated into the dough.

Incorporate Cheese

  • Fold shredded cheese into dough. Ensure cheese is evenly spread throughout.

Shape Rolls

  • Divide dough into 8 equal portions. Shape each into a small oval or round roll.

Arrange on Baking Sheet

  • Place rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Leave space between each roll.

Bake Rolls

  • Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown. The tops should be slightly crisp and cheese melted.

Cool Slightly and Serve

  • Let rolls cool for 5 minutes. Serve warm for best cheesy texture.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese, not pre-shredded, for better melt.
  • Brush tops with melted butter before baking for extra shine.
  • You can freeze unbaked rolls and bake later for fresh treats.
  • Add a pinch of garlic powder for a subtle flavor twist.
  • Serve immediately for soft and gooey cheese inside.
