Ingredients

  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce like Frank’s RedHot
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for more heat

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Base

  • In a small bowl, add ketchup, honey, and brown sugar. Stir well until the sugar starts to dissolve.

Step 2: Add Seasonings

  • Add Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix everything until smooth.

Step 3: Heat the Sauce (Optional)

  • For a deeper flavor, heat the sauce in a saucepan for 3–4 minutes on low heat. Stir constantly. Don’t let it boil.

Step 4: Cool and Serve

  • Remove from heat and let it cool. Pour into a jar or bowl and serve. The sauce thickens slightly as it cools.

Step 5: Store

  • Store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to two weeks.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less hot sauce.
  • Use smoked paprika for that rich BBQ-like flavor.
  • Mix in a teaspoon of mustard for extra tang.
  • Let the sauce chill before serving — it improves the flavor.
  • Always use fresh ingredients for the best taste.
