Ingredients
  

  • All-purpose flour 1 ½ cups
  • Cocoa powder 2 tablespoons
  • Baking soda ½ teaspoon
  • Salt ¼ teaspoon
  • Unsalted butter ½ cup (softened)
  • Granulated sugar ½ cup
  • Brown sugar ¼ cup
  • Egg 1 large
  • Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
  • Red food coloring 1 tablespoon
  • White chocolate chips 1 cup
  • Cream cheese 2 tablespoons (softened, optional)

Instructions
  

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars

  • In another bowl, beat butter, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Egg and Vanilla

  • Add egg and vanilla. Beat again until smooth and well mixed.

Add Food Coloring

  • Add red food coloring. Mix until the dough turns bright red.

Combine Wet and Dry

  • Add dry mix to wet mix. Stir until the dough forms evenly.

Fold in Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in white chocolate chips and cream cheese if using. Do not overmix.

Shape the Cookies

  • Scoop dough into balls. Place on the baking sheet. Leave space for spreading.

Bake the Cookies

  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. The edges should be set but soft in the middle.

Cool the Cookies

  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for five minutes. Move to a cooling rack.
