Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups Bisquick mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or oil for muffin tin

Instructions

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin lightly with cooking spray.

Cook Sausage

  • In a frying pan, cook sausage over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat.

Mix Bisquick Batter

  • In a large bowl, combine Bisquick, milk, eggs, salt and pepper. Stir until smooth.

Add Cheese and Sausage

  • Fold in cooked sausage and shredded cheese into the batter. Mix gently to combine.

Fill Muffin Tin

  • Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling about 3/4 full.

Bake Muffins

  • Place muffin tin in preheated oven. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool Slightly

  • Remove muffins from oven. Let them cool 5 minutes before removing from tin.

Serve Warm

  • Serve muffins warm with butter, ketchup or your favorite breakfast condiments.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter; muffins will stay soft and fluffy.
  • Use cooked sausage to avoid greasy muffins.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers or onions for extra flavor.
  • Shredded cheese makes muffins more delicious but is optional.
