Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

Heat sugar mix

  • Add sugar, sour cream, butter and salt to a saucepan and heat gently.

Cook until thick

  • Cook the mixture on medium heat, stirring until it thickens and bubbles slowly.

Check temperature

  • Cook until the mix reaches soft-ball stage or becomes thick and glossy.

Add chocolate

  • Remove the saucepan from heat and add chocolate chips to the hot mixture.

Stir to melt

  • Stir well until all chocolate melts and the mixture looks smooth and dark.

Add vanilla

  • Add vanilla to the chocolate mix and stir to blend the flavors fully.

Line the dish

  • Place parchment in the baking dish so the fudge removes easily later.

Pour the fudge

  • Pour the hot fudge mixture into the lined baking dish and spread evenly.

Cool completely

  • Let the fudge cool at room temperature until firm and set.

Cut and serve
