Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks ribeye or sirloin
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Fresh parsley chopped
  • Sour cream optional

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes

  • Wash potatoes well under running water. Pat dry with a towel. Pierce each potato with a fork. Rub with olive oil and sprinkle salt evenly.

Bake the Potatoes

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Place potatoes on a baking tray. Bake for 35–40 minutes until soft inside and crispy outside.

Season the Steak

  • Take steaks out of the fridge. Let them rest at room temperature. Season both sides with salt, black pepper and paprika evenly.

Heat the Pan

  • Place a skillet on medium-high heat. Add a little oil. Let the pan get very hot before adding steak. This helps create a nice crust.

Cook the Steak

  • Place steak in the hot pan. Cook for 3–4 minutes on one side. Flip and cook the other side. Adjust time based on your preferred doneness.

Add Butter and Garlic

  • Add butter and crushed garlic to the pan. Spoon melted butter over the steak. This adds extra flavor and keeps the steak juicy.

Rest the Steak

  • Remove steak from the pan. Let it rest for 5 minutes. This helps juices stay inside and keeps the meat tender.

Serve the Dish

  • Cut open baked potatoes. Add butter or sour cream. Serve with steak and garnish with parsley. Enjoy hot for best taste.

Notes

  • Use room temperature steak for even cooking
  • Do not skip resting time for juicy meat
  • Pierce potatoes to avoid bursting
  • Use high heat for a good steak crust
  • Add butter for rich flavor
