Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions
 

Step 1:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2:

  • Boil sweet potatoes in a large saucepan until tender. Drain well.

Step 3:

  • Mash sweet potatoes until smooth and creamy.

Step 4:

  • Add melted butter, sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Mix well.

Step 5:

  • Spread the mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.

Step 6:

  • In a bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, butter and pecans.

Step 7:

  • Sprinkle topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.

Step 8:

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.

Step 9:

  • Serve warm as a dessert or side dish.
