Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp hot sauce or more for heat
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Add sour cream and mayonnaise

  • Put sour cream and mayo into a mixing bowl. Stir until smooth.

Add seasonings

  • Add taco seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently.

Add lime and hot sauce

  • Pour in lime juice and hot sauce. Stir again until everything blends well.

Add cilantro

  • Stir in chopped cilantro for fresh flavor.

Taste and adjust

  • Add salt if needed. Add more lime juice or hot sauce if you like stronger flavor.

Chill

  • Place the sauce in the fridge for 15 minutes. This helps the flavors blend.

Serve

  • Serve with taquitos, tacos, fries, nachos, chips, or chicken strips.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
  • Add a spoon of salsa for extra spice.
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Chill the sauce for a deeper, richer taste.
  • Add a pinch of sugar if you want a slightly sweeter dip.
