Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley optional

Instructions
 

Rinse the Rice

  • Wash the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain completely.

Melt Butter

  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat until soft.

Add Seasonings

  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper to butter. Stir well.

Toast the Rice

  • Add rice to the saucepan. Stir for 2 minutes until lightly golden.

Pour Chicken Broth

  • Add chicken broth to rice. Stir to mix all ingredients evenly.

Boil and Simmer

  • Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover with a tight lid.

Cook Rice

  • Let rice simmer for 15-18 minutes until liquid is absorbed.

Turn Off Heat

  • Turn off the stove. Let rice sit covered for 5 minutes.

Fluff the Rice

  • Use a fork to fluff the rice. Sprinkle parsley on top if desired.

Serve Warm

  • Serve immediately as a side with your favorite main dish.

Notes

  • Always rinse rice to remove extra starch.
  • Do not lift the lid while cooking rice.
  • Use fresh chicken broth for best flavor.
  • Fluff rice gently with a fork.
  • Add parsley for color and mild flavor.
