Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of carrots peeled and sliced
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Carrots

  • Wash and peel the carrots. Slice them into even pieces. Try to make them the same size so they cook evenly.

Boil the Carrots

  • Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the carrots and cook for 8–10 minutes. They should be tender but not too soft. Drain the water using a colander.

Melt the Butter

  • In a large pan, melt the butter on medium heat. Let it bubble slightly but don’t burn it.

Add Sugar and Honey

  • Add brown sugar and honey to the melted butter. Stir until the sugar melts and the sauce looks glossy.

Coat the Carrots

  • Add the boiled carrots into the pan. Mix gently so the sauce covers all the pieces. Let them cook for 5 more minutes.

Season and Garnish

  • Add salt and black pepper for taste. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the carrots; keep them slightly firm.
  • Use fresh carrots for the best texture and color.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra holiday flavor.
  • You can use maple syrup instead of honey if you like.
  • For a richer taste, add a small spoon of butter before serving.
