- 1 cup soft butter unsalted
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Step 1: Turn the oven on to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet.
Step 2: Mix butter and sugar until soft and light.
Step 3: Add egg and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Step 4: In a bowl, mix flour, soda, tartar, and salt.
Step 5: Add dry mix into butter mix. Mix slowly.
Step 6: Put dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Step 7: Make small balls using a cookie scoop.
Step 8: Put balls on a sheet with space between.
Step 9: Bake for 9 to 11 minutes. Edges should be set.
Step 10: Cool cookies on rack. Then eat and enjoy!
- Chill dough to make soft, chewy cookies.
