Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. This helps the cookies bake evenly and not stick.
Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir well and set aside. This keeps your cookies light and fluffy.
Beat the Butter and Sugar
In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy. This step gives your cookies a sweet and rich flavor.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Beat again until everything is well mixed. This makes your cookies soft and moist.
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Add the dry ingredients slowly to the wet mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
Add Chocolate and Sprinkles
Add both chocolate chips and any winter sprinkles or candy. Mix them gently into the dough. Each bite will have chocolate goodness and winter sparkle.
Shape the Cookies
Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop dough balls onto the baking tray. Leave space between each cookie as they will spread.
Bake the Cookies
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. The centers should look soft. They will set as they cool.
Cool and Enjoy
Let the cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes. Then move them to a cooling rack. Enjoy warm with milk or hot cocoa.
Notes
Use melted butter for chewy cookies.
Do not overmix the dough.
Add more white chocolate for extra sweetness.
Chill the dough for 15 minutes before baking if you want thicker cookies.
Decorate with snowflake sprinkles for a winter look.
