For the Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice wine optional
For the Syrup:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ginger juice
Make the Dough: Combine flour and salt in a bowl, then stir in sesame oil. Pour in honey, water, and rice wine. Knead until smooth. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Roll and Cut: Roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into small shapes with a knife or cutter.
Heat the Oil: In a pan, heat oil to 300°F.
Fry the Yakgwa: Add dough pieces in small batches. Fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Make the Syrup: In a saucepan, heat honey, water, sugar, and ginger juice. Stir until sugar melts.
Soak the Cookies: Dip the fried cookies in syrup for 10 minutes. Make sure they soak well.
Cool and Serve: Remove from syrup. Let them dry for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy!
