Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine optional

For the Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger juice

For Frying:

  • 2 cups vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • Make the Dough: Combine flour and salt in a bowl, then stir in sesame oil. Pour in honey, water, and rice wine. Knead until smooth. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Roll and Cut: Roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into small shapes with a knife or cutter.
  • Heat the Oil: In a pan, heat oil to 300°F.
  • Fry the Yakgwa: Add dough pieces in small batches. Fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Make the Syrup: In a saucepan, heat honey, water, sugar, and ginger juice. Stir until sugar melts.
  • Soak the Cookies: Dip the fried cookies in syrup for 10 minutes. Make sure they soak well.
  • Cool and Serve: Remove from syrup. Let them dry for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use good honey for the best taste.
  • Let the dough rest for a better texture.
  • Fry on low heat for even cooking.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.
