Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups canned or fresh green beans
  • 4 slices bacon chopped
  • 1/2 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions
 

Step 1: Cook the Bacon

  • Cook chopped bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside, keeping some fat in the pan.

Step 2: Sauté Onion and Garlic

  • Add the chopped onion to the bacon fat. Sauté until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

Step 3: Add Green Beans

  • Add green beans to the skillet. Sprinkle salt, pepper, sugar, and smoked paprika.

Step 4: Simmer with Broth

  • Pour in chicken broth. Stir well, cover, and simmer for 15–20 minutes until tender.

Step 5: Mix Bacon and Serve

  • Stir in the cooked bacon before serving. Enjoy warm.

  • Use fresh green beans for the best bite.
  • Let it simmer long enough for flavors to blend.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of apple cider vinegar.
  • Adjust salt based on the bacon you use.
