  • 8 oz cream cheese cubed
  • 6 eggs
  • cups milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter for greasing

Instructions
  

Prepare the Baking Dish

  • Grease a baking dish with butter. This helps prevent sticking. Cut bread into cubes and spread evenly in the dish. This forms the base of the casserole.

Add Blueberries and Cream Cheese

  • Sprinkle blueberries over the bread cubes. Add small pieces of cream cheese evenly. This creates layers of sweet and creamy flavor in every bite.

Make the Egg Mixture

  • In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Mix until smooth. This mixture will soak into the bread and create a soft texture.

Pour Over Bread

  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread. Make sure all pieces are soaked well. Press lightly with a spoon to help absorb the liquid evenly.

Chill the Casserole

  • Cover the dish and place it in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Overnight chilling works even better. This helps flavors blend well.

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 180°C (350°F). This ensures even baking. Take the casserole out of the fridge before baking.

Bake the Casserole

  • Place the dish in the oven. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown. The inside should be soft and slightly firm.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top if you like. Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
