Delicious Vegetarian Pie Recipe

I discovered this recipe whereas searching meals blogs simply earlier than my exams. I imagine it’s referred to as procrastination:-)

The thought of a vegetarian pie may be very interesting, although I like meat, meat pies are sometimes too heavy for my liking and I’ll find yourself feeling responsible and full after a few bites (Okay so possibly after a few pies:-). So I’ve determined to offer this a go and expend all of the greens within the fridge.

Elements:

Pie Crust:

  • 450 g/16 Oz White Flour
  • 1 1/4 quick appearing Yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg, crushed
  • 2 tbsp runny Honey
  • 50 ml mild Olive Oil
  • 260 ml heat Water

Vegetable Filling:

  • 1 small Potato, peeled and cubed
  • 2 giant Onions, peeled and minimize into chunks
  • 1 Inexperienced Pepper, minimize into chunks
  • 2 Carrots, peeled and cubes
  • 2 giant Tomatoes, minimize into chunks
  • 100 g/3.5 Oz Mushrooms, minimize into chunks
  • 3 Garlic cloves, peeled and chopped finely
  • A handful of peas
  • 70g/2.5 Oz Cheddar, grated
  • 2 tbsp Further Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp chopped Basil
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • Salt and Pepper

Step By Step Directions

Step 1

Place all of the greens in a baking dish, add the basil, paprika and seasoning. Drizzle with additional virgin olive oil and blend properly. Prepare dinner within the oven at 200 C/Fuel Mark 6/ 390 F for 20 minutes.

Step 2

To make the crust: In a big bowl, combine the flour with salt, yeast, oil, honey and egg and blend properly.

Step 3

Add the nice and cozy water step by step to flour combination whereas mixing till a clean bread dough is fashioned. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Divide the dough into two equal halves. Roll one half right into a 25 cm circle. Place the roasted greens on high of the rolled dough, leaving 2 cm off the sides. Sprinkle the grated cheese on high of the greens.

Step 5

Roll the opposite half into one other circle and place on high of the greens and seal the sides.

Step 6

Cowl the pie with a tea towel and go away for 20 minutes.

Step 7

Brush the pie with olive oil and bake within the oven at 200 C/ Fuel Mark 6/ 390 F for half-hour.

Step 8

Serve sizzling or chilly.
